Do you admire historical glass from the 19th and 20th centuries? Then you are sure to be thrilled by the work of the master glassmakers at the Florian glassworks in Častolovice in the Česká Lípa area. Here, in the beautiful surroundings of the village, in a timbered cottage with a barn and furnace, master glassmakers have engaged in the production of hand-blown glass and the gradual renewal of old production techniques since 1996. Master glassmaker Petr Červený founded the glassworks with the aim of continuing the art of glassmakers from the 17th and 18th centuries and the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. He succeeded in discovering the legacy of a renowned master glassmaker in books with historical techniques and production technology. He refined his own tin castings, and in doing so created the possibility of producing complex replicas of original historical models. The glassworks engage in the manual production of glass, shaping, blowing, casting into moulds, etc. You too can learn about the full production and technological processes involved and test your skills by blowing a glass souvenir. With its unique production, Floriánova huť is on its way to becoming a jewel in the crown of the Crystal Valley, representatives of Bohemian glass and fashion jewellery.
