The Spiderglass Glass Studio was founded in 1990 in Heřmanice near Frýdlant. It specialises in original, handmade products, from the tiniest pieces of glass jewellery through utility glass to monumental glass objects. It is becoming increasingly popular and learning about the work done here is an unforgettable experience. You will not encounter the heat of the glass furnace here, but instead the largest electric furnace in the Czech Republic, acquainting you with a special technological process known as the fusing of glass. The owner of the glass studio, Mr. Josef Novotný, will be pleased to share his experience and knowledge with you and introduce you to the whole operation. You can admire the technological process, the studio glass and jewellery gallery and a showroom with original ceramic moulds. The premises are not for work alone, of course, and have also become a social and cultural attraction in the village. Visitors can also see a rare Hammond electrophonic organ that has been played by world-famous musicians (and by the owner of the glassworks).
