Lucie and Jan Franta built, and are still building, the Krkonose goat farm in Rudnik. In the southern foothills of the Krkonose, they breed some 60 goats, some of which graze near Horni Marsov in the summer. Thirty goats are kept on pastures on the farm and are milked twice a day. Sixty litres of milk are processed in their micro-dairy into fresh cheese, kephir, gervais cheese, curd and pasteurised milk. The high quality of these products results from the place and method of breeding the goats, the low production volumes and the family character of the farm, which has no other employees. They offer “on-site” sales of dairy products which satisfy all sanitary and veterinary regulations for safe foodstuffs.
