‘Fries’ mountain beer is brewed in the Andula guesthouse, part of the Friesovy chalets, from mountain water rising at an altitude of 1217m a.s.l. The beer quality is guaranteed by the mountain water as well as the carefully followed production process, which you can watch on a visit to the microbrewery. You will be guided by the local Brewster, who will present the technology, raw materials and the results, i.e., several beer types. You can taste their 10° beer with a lower alcohol content; 12° light beer, a traditional Czech lager prepared from three types of malt and specific hops from the Zatec region; their 13° semi-dark special beer, which is prepared from five types of malt; and a special ale-type top-fermented beer with a prominent taste and higher alcohol content. If you are interested to know what mash, unhopped and hopped wort means, and what happens in the brewhouse, fermenting cellar and the tanks, take a trip to the mountain tops and visit the brewery in the Andula guest house, which also lies on the Krkonose Beer Trail.
