The Volek family founded their Kafirna in Trutnov as a place to meet and make grand plans. For many people, this is a refuge from the rush of everyday life and a place to relax. One of the grand plans was made here – to roast one’s own coffee. The family began to learn, try, experiment, taste and elaborate their plans, and that’s how the Prazirna Volkafe roasthouse was established. Volkafe purchases green coffee beans from small farmers in various countries and is the only roasting plant in the Czech Republic to have the Fair Trade coffee roasting licence. They do medium roast Italian type coffee. You can follow the roasting here and learn about various types of coffee, and taste specialty Arabic and Robusta coffees from all around the world and also coffee mixtures.
