You can find out how to make one and what the master cutler does next at Sharp Knives, a small workshop run by Jiří Dvořák in Janov nad Nisou in the beautiful surroundings of the Jizera Mountains. The workshop also offers unique knife-making workshops, during which you make your very own knife. Courses are customised to suit everyone interested. The price of the course includes all materials and the knife which you make you take home with you, of course. Jiří has ​​been making handmade knives since 2010. It is a passion that he has completely succumbed to. He learned the technology of Damascus steel production, which he likes to use on his blades, at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Turnov. He makes only fixed-blade knives, most often of the Scandinavian type, woodcutter knives - bushcraft, hunting and special kitchen knives. He also repairs knives and professionally sharpens them. Jiří has held the “Regional Product of the Jizera Mountains” mark since 2019.
